Ministers from EU Member States, Schengen associated countries, European partners and institutions meet on Thursday the 25th of January for the informal « Justice and Home Affairs » Council, which focus on home affairs and migration.
On the day before, the ministers gathered in Antwerp for the official launch of European Ports Alliance public-private partnership in the fight against drug-related organised crime in ports.
The focus points of this informal council are perfectly aligned with one of the six priorities of the Belgian presidency: protecting people and borders.

Justice - 26 January
On the 26th of January, in the framework of the Belgian presidency, Ministers of Justice of the EU will meet in Brussels to discuss three priority topics: the European judicial response to drug-related organised crime, the protection of sex workers, and small-scale detention as a form of incarceration aimed at reintegrating and rehabilitating detainees.
